Rain and warm temperatures have destroyed what we had and we'll be starting over this week. Hopefully the cold will come in and refreeze everything and we'll get some more snow to reopen them soon.
Keep checking back for any reports.

Things are starting to freeze up pretty good right now so hopefully the damage will stop getting worse.

Anyone have a chance to float up there and get a damage assessment? I have to believe we may have survived with our base still in tact less the torrents at every water crossing. It was cooler monday AM when I left for work than I had thought it would be with less rain overnight than expected (could be good.) Albeit Monday got real warm and rainy. Hopefully, a good couple snows and we can creep back into it. I know my base in the back yard is still there LOL. On a side note, Im flying south to Bethesda/DC region tommorrow, looks like heavy snow fri and sat. Ill bring some back for everyone to see!

From Ken:
Well I took a damage assessment mission yesterday afternoon and I saw some good and bad. I only have a minute but here are a couple of notes. The good is there is still a pretty deep snow pack in many spots but it is a rock solid concrete like surface. The groomer and drag would not even penetrate. The center of the seasonal road trails are shot in many spots…see pics. Anywhere there is a rock, it is poking out. Anywhere there is water that crosses the trail, it has washed away the snow and is bare with an ice shelf on both sides. Once we get snow, I can fill them in with the groomer. There are many limbs and branches down from the intense wind. There may be trees down too but I did not get to the entire trail system. The standing water has frozen up pretty quick and will help with a smooth trail once snow falls over it. The trails are not bumpy as we were in smooth condition going into the rain. There are some high corners and bumpy corners but where there is snow, it will be a killer base. Secondary trails are shot. It is not all bad but the bottom line is trails are not safe to ride until we get more snow and we work our groomer magic again. If you see old man winter, tell him to get to work and deliver us the white gold.

Last night I saw some fresh tracks heading up the Spruce Mt trail and the gate was open. Was this last storm enough to re-open the trails and maybe groom?

i'm goingto assess the situation this afternoon and will consult with the grooming team.
The gates were never closed (safety) and i know people have been on the trails even though the conditions were very unsafe. Hopefully the 4" of heavy snow we got last night will cover up some of the hazards.
I expect that the trails will be re-opened this evening, so check back.

Sounds good. It is tough seeing the sleds sit in the garage.
