My friend and I spent the day eploring today. Spruce mtn side ok shaffer shanty to fire tower needs more snow fire tower road to c8a? good usual problem spots from there to ormsbee rd Sacandaga trail to gate ok but gate closed. Saw dust pile rd easy on the the throttle several dips will educate you in a hurry, trail towrds tinney's from the burned out explorer was broken till a tree down, Randy was able to move the tree and we continued on till we hit muddy logging road and turned around. Took c8a to lake desolation ( if you like to ride nice conditions stay off of this trail untill we get more snow ) I didn't see a SINGLE rock, they all had plenty of friends. Zipped accross the lake cause I don't think there is much more than 2 inches of ice so don't slow down or stop. Tinney's closed Groomer tracks from galway in the parking lot so we headed for village pizzaria. ( just don't do it ) Rocks and rocks and more rocks !!! Groomer tracks where from work crew brushing and clearing no drag behind groomer. Would of needed repair if they did drag it. Came out on Clark road and antioch, no signage to follow and all blacktop so we turned around and headed for the truck. Summery, sleds took a beating and so did the riders, mulleville trails are good if you stay on the logging roads and avoid the traditionaly rough spots ( the spots that are normally good where a blast )so if you want scatch that itch go ahead but be carefull. More snow please

I did 40 miles around M'ville yesterday and met the same closed gate.it was at #SR027S.

Thanks Yamalard . that gate is near the horse hill junction and is a part of the Sacandaga system . Posssibly they haven't open yet . I'll see if ican find out .

Did anyone ride down to the County Rt 10 lot and see if that gate is open? It was supposed to be opened last week and I would like a first hand report if it was or not.
This is one of the few gates that we don't have the ability to open.

Yes the gate that was closed was on the sacandaga trail system, at the intersection where you go left it takes you toward richters ( closed ) if you go straight at that intersection you can get to the lake but you have to do a lot of road riding.

PARKED AT RT 10 GATE ON SAT AFTERNOON , GATE WAS OPEN. RODE 40 MILES THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME IN MULLEYVILLE TRAILS. RIDING WAS PRETTY GOOD FOR THE CONDITIONS WE HAVE. I WILL BE RETURNIBG TO RIDE THERE IN THE NEAR FUTURE, CAN YOU RIDE TO TINNEYS FROM THE RT 10 GATE? THANKS RICH FROM SOUTH WARREN CLUB

Rich , yes , you can get to Tinney's from co rt 10 . We just got the ok for the last 3 miles in November . The last 1 1/2 miles to Lake Desolation is going to take some work and more snow . i did that trail saturday and scraped more rocks than i would have liked . We have more signs on order also to direct you as you get closer .

I don't know my left from my right these days. The gate on the RIGHT takes you towards richters
