i tried to break the alpine meadows trail comming in from Tony Towers (s-87 ) but was stopped by a couple blowdowns and rocks where there normally has been a wet spot . we worked on that this summer , but obviously mother nature won this round . forget this trail for a while . the wet areas on s-87 that were problems this time last year are greatly improved this year thanks to Ken and Steve . the main loop was for the most part fast and smooth . The usual holes on S-81 are works in progress and easily passable . the first half of c8a was also impressive both for the condition of the trail , but overall visability . the second half as has been previously mentioned imo is still better than riding fox hill , but needs more snow to cover up the rocks . my carbides were complaining here as well as on the section of c-8 (snake trail ) leading over to the fire tower . i saved the best for last , s-82 . We corrected the drainage issues over the summer and while the 7 dips are still there , the groomer will be able to pack them with snow . i broke the trail all the way over the bridge and to the top of the hill . it was so much fun , i did it a second time . that got the gas gauge moving .
i left the mountain smiling and thinking carbides are just another wear item …….. as always , be safe !
