Trails are open BUT conditions will be poor and rocky.  Remember the bonfire at Lake Desolation from about 3:30 to 8:00 Saturday 1/21.

There will be many hazards including possible down trees from the windstorm we had this week.  There's about 8 " of hard crusty snow up on top.  The road trails will be your best bet.  The woods trails will not be very good with rocks.  I recommend staying off S87 and the alpine meadows ski hill section of C8 as there may be gates closed.  You may encounter some closed gates.

Remember, Spuce Mt road trail head is CLOSED this year, Please stay off that trail.  The wells road gate is open, I don't know about the county route 10 gate, but that trail will be very rough anyway.

It's good for scratching an itch, and i don't know if sacandaga's trails are open or ridable at this point.  Bottom line, be careful, don't expect much, and repect the landowners of the conditions get thin.  If we get 3+ inches tonight they will be better but that isn't expected.  There has been no grooming yet and don't expect any this weekend either.  Rain and warm on monday will definately close them back down.
