An article appeared on Sunday, November 9th in the Schenectady Gazette about restoration efforts by several groups of the Fire Tower.  This is a good project for our club to get involved with as well.  The benefits to us are numerous.  First, we can help with a community project that will help bring attention to our club.  Also, we have many riders that would enjoy being able to take in the view from the top.  It is truely spectacular.  Unfortunately it’s no longer safe to climb.  Finally, by becoming involved in the project we can help ensure our access rights. Visit our forum to discuss this issue.

Any time that we can improve our ( snowmobilers ) status in the public eye we should jump at the chance. There aren't many opportunities to overcome the negative press that we get from the few that get themselvs into the headlines and on the news. Snowmobilers as doo gooders, who new? We know in our circle that we jump at the chance to help each other. Now lets see if we can convey that to other groups after all we all want the same thing. A place to safely enjoy our sport without total destruction to the environment and infringement onto the other people who also respect the serenity and beauty of the environment.
