I took a quick ride from the house after work today. I did about 40 miles and hit a good portion of the trails. Here is a quick report and I will make it short and sweet.
Spruce mtn trail – not groomed, couple of bumps, very good condition
Turned right on S85 – not groomed, some rocks poking out, fair condition
Left on C8 up past Shaffer Shanty back to Spruce tm – up to shanty, was mostly smooth, a rock here and there, good condition. Past the Shanty it was dodging rocks and slow going but not horrible.
C8 (snake trail) was ok. Not groomed, many rocks, slow going but I have seen worse
Made a right took S82 – groomed and perfect condition, did it twice it was so nice. Back up and made a right
C8 towards Sacandaga intersection – groomed and fair condition. Some rocks, bumps and icy spots
From Sacandaga up to Kiosk – not groomed and ok condition, 1st section has big water bars that will send you flying if you are not paying attention. 2nd part was rocky but not too bad
C8 back towards burnt mill – groomed and sweet condition.
Overall the trails are not bad with all things considered. There are many hazards and take the secondary’s slow or you have a good chance of thrashing you sled. Hope to see you on the trails.
