Left the house and took a quick ride today. It was quicker than I planned since the conditions were not good.
It rained all night and it was pretty steady rain too. Then when the rain stopped today it was sunny and 43 degrees this afternoon. When I left the house (in a light weight fleece) the trail was pretty good going up Spruce mtn, banged a rock here and there but nothing major. It was bad from there. Once I got to any sort of incline the snow was so soft and slushy it just blew out from underneath me and I would spin.
Forget about any secondary trails, not passible…you will thrash your machine. The snow is so wet that when it freezes, it will be a killer solid base. We need more snow and to get back to the business of winter. Hopefully everyone will stay off the trails until it freezes up and we get more snow.

nothing exciting to report. I did a quick ride and everything is buttoned up solid and we have some new snow but it is light and fluffy. I would say everything is ridable but secondaries are dangerous…be alert for many hazzards. One more storm and we will be set…we have an amazing base

it's amazing the difference in accumulation from this weekends storm. I work in argyle and there's probably 10" new snow there. It's less than 20 miles from my house in wilton where i got 2" of fluff.
