Trails OPEN! . . . but,
As of Sunday Night (12/13) at sundown the trails are open with between 12 and 18 inches of snow depending on elevation.Â
BUT…be very careful on the trails as the water holes and streams are mostly wide open still. There are several really deep ones that you don’t want to fall into. The rocks are not all covered and the beaver ponds are NOT frozen. The main loop from Ormsbee to Davignon road via C8 is your best bet. The S87 from Ormsbee over to spruce is probably the best way to get from one side to the other as there is a beaver pond on S86.
We have a groomer out tonight packing and stuffing the water holes with snow but we are NOT grooming the trail. The drags are not attached so again be careful.

December Newsletter
Well December is upon us and the weather is starting to show signs of cooperating with us. After a promising end of October, November was the complete opposite of last year. One year ago today, Lake Desolation was frozen solid, all our mud holes and beaver dams were frozen over and we were on our way to a great year. Hopefully now the cold can come in and freeze everything up for us and get us some snow for opening day on December 15th. Keep an eye on the website for info on when we open the gates and declare the trails open. Remember our trails have a lot of rocks and mud under the snow so it takes quite a bit to make them safe to open.
Register and Join Early
For those who already have a membership and a DMV voucher, we thank you. We need you to do one more thing… register your snowmobile with NYS DMV now. It helps the club budget for the winter and NY Parks and Recreation uses a middle of December cutoff date to determine the trail funding amounts for the year based on registrations received by then. It helps the system out for everyone to be joined and registered before then. You’re going to do it anyway, why not get it done before those Christmas bills come. It’s easier than ever to join online. Just follow this link to the NYSSA page. It takes less than 5 minutes to join and print your voucher. https://membership.nyssnowassoc.org/club/show/675
Mulleyville 100 Club
Please consider purchasing a Mulleyville 100 Club ticket. For the $100 ticket you buy entry into 5 separate drawings for $1000. Only 100 tickets will be sold so the odds of winning are very high. We are delaying the first drawing until the January meeting as we haven’t sold the minimum amount of tickets yet. For those of you who have already bought in we appreciate your support and apologize for the 1 month delay in drawings . We need everyone’s support to make this a successful fundraiser and win some money.Â
The proceeds for the club will go towards building our new groomer barn. To join the 100 Club visit http://mulleyvilletrailsystem.com/100-club/ and click the Paypal button to use Paypal or Credit Card, or you can contact any of the Board of Directors as listed on the Meet the Team page. There is no requirement to be a member of the club so if you have friends that like raffles the odds here are tremendous. These make a great Christmas Present too.
C8A Trail To Lake Desolation
Thanks to a lot of hard work by a lot of people we have secured a lease to allow us to re-open the C8A trail from intersection SR09S on Ormsbee Road to Lake Desolation. This means we will not have to ride the 4 miles of Fox Hill Road anymore (though it will remain open if you want). This is a huge improvement for our trails and the connection to Galway Trails (behind Tinney’s Tavern). Thanks to all the land owners who have let us reopen the trail and to Aaron at Tinney’s for his continued support. Please support him as well now that we have a snow covered trail all the way to his deck.

Ski Doo Millions Club Support
Ski-Doo is running a promotion right now to give money back directly to snowmobile clubs across North America. For every club member that stops in at a Ski-Doo dealership between 9/1/09 and 11/15/09 and drops off the completed form below, BRP will give to our club $10, up to a total of $1500 (free money). If you haven’t been into a Ski Doo Dealer and filled out a form, send an email to Ken Passaretti at vicepresident@mulleyvilletrailsystem.com and we can fill out a form for you and bring it in before the deadline. We haven’t reached our 150 member goal yet and any one agreeing to let us fill out a form for them will help a lot. Also if you have done one on your own let us know! Time is running out.

Club Land Purchase
As many of you know by now the club purchased 13 acres of land on our trail system this summer. We did this to build a groomer barn in a location that was centrally located to our trails and to get our groomers out of the weather. The exposure tears up the equipment and our reduced maintenance costs and improved uptime will soon pay for the barn. This will be a 3-5 year project as the lot is heavily wooded and will need to be logged first. We expect to spend the next year and a half fundraising and start construction in the summer of 2011. If you have skills or materials you’d like to donate we can use every bit of help. Specifics are excavation, concrete work, insulation (preferably spray foam), electrical (off grid application – solar, generator, battery), HVAC (radiant slab), and general construction. Of course monetary donations will help a ton too.
The barn will be an administrative use only facility and there will be no parking or general access to the land. This is because it is at the end of a private road that can not safely support additional traffic of the club. We are also working with DEC to have a large parking lot built off of Fox Hill Road or another location. We continue to look at ways to improve our parking situation and are open to any suggestions

Fall Party 10/17 at Brookhaven Pavilion
The Fall Party is going to be October 17th.  It will be a repeat of last fall’s party at the Brookhaven Pavilion and will run from 2pm until we run out of firewood (probably 11pm or so).
It will be a little different this year in that we are not doing the $100 dollar Cash Bash Tickets like we have in the past. Instead we’ll be doing a $25 per person entry ticket that will buy you all you can eat and draft beer. We will then have a $10/ticket 50/50 for those of you wanting to try and win some cash. There will be sponsor give-a-ways, horseshoes, a DJ, and of course the big bonfire.
Click here to access the party page!
