Saturday Night 1/24/09

Trails are holding up beautifully with the cold.  Both Groomers on on the trails as I type this and will do a clean up of the entire trail system tonight.  At 6 pm tonight the trails were nearly as flat as they were at 6 am today.  Only S81 from the Sacandaga intersection to Fox hill road was a little bumped up but nowhere near as bad as it could be.

As always C8 from Spruce mt road to the S86 intersection is a little rough but it’s fully covered with snow (no mud!).  The Alpine meadows trail has only been opened for a week but it’s in great shape now.  S84 and C8A are still closed, and likely will be for the entire winter.  The spruce mt side is in phenominal condition, including the trail down to County Rt 10 that is usally a rocky mess.

The toughness our trails is a testament to the talent and dedication of our Groomer Operators.  We have a great base and they really know how to work the snow.  If you see them give them a big thumbs up.

Sunday is going to be a great day to get out and ride.  Outhouse Races at Tinney’s at 2:00pm so be careful coming across the lake.  Remember to right on the right side of the road just as if you were a car on Fox Hill Road and obey the 25 MPH speed limit.

Enjoy
